do you have faith?

Happy Friday!

Last weekend, I had the opportunity to speak at the 2013 Ei Forum on this very topic of faith and risk. As an entrepreneur, you can not have one without the other.

Everyone needs to have faith in their lives. It can be faith in God, faith in your surroundings, faith in your team members or mostly importantly, faith in yourself. Having faith gives you the support and confidence to take the risks necessary to finding true success. Any successful person can probably tell you that they didn’t get where they are by playing it safe. Taking risks gives you chance to reach your highest dreams and your fullest potential.

Taking risks does not mean, however, that you should be reckless.I am referring to well-researched and well-thought out risks. As I’ve said before there is nothing more valuable than being well-informed. Knowledge gives you the confidence to take greater risks and make better decisions. By surrounding yourself with smart, like-minded people you can brainstorm with, and by doing your daily diligence of staying on top of your market and target audience, you’ll be able to figure out which risks are worth taking.

Once they are presented to you, you need to grab them! If the risks don’t pan out the way you envisioned, it’s okay. There is something greater in the works. Don’t be afraid to reiterate on your idea and do something that makes you uncomfortable. Reach out to that person you want to work with and continue to evolve as a person. You can do amazing things!
