let’s do this!

Hey there,

In this age of go go go, it’s easy to forget or overlook the value of pause and reflection. Rather than being a waste of time, reflection can actually give you more clarity which then leads to more productivity. It doesn’t matter if you’re a wellness instructor or restaurant owner or designer/artist, it is important to set aside time each week to reflect on the week, month and year.  Are you ready to do this?

Here are 3 simple steps:

1) Spend a few minutes on Monday reflecting on what occurred the previous week –  the good and the bad.

2) Write down any missed opportunities and areas for growth. Nip those “not so good” ideas in the bud. Here are some questions to get your juices flowing – How were your sales for the week? What did you sell a lot of and need to replenish? What products maybe weren’t as popular as you expected? Were there any opportunities you missed? Were your marketing efforts successful? How was your web traffic?

3) Track your performance. Once you’ve answered these questions applicable to your business, you’ll be giving yourself a great way to track progress and ideas. Then, you can start making improvements! Even the most successful businesses are constantly evolving and improving. :)

What are you most excited for 2013?
I am most excited about inspiring other creative entrepreneurs to create the life they want and make it happen! We have so many exciting ideas in the works and can’t wait to share with you all in the New Year!

XOXO

Are you taking care of yourself? PLUS, a special gift for you! :)

Hey there! The holiday season is all about giving: giving thanks, giving love, and giving gifts! It’s important, however, to not forget to take care of yourself as well. I’m not saying that you have to go out and buy every single thing on your wish list, not that the thought hasn’t crossed ours minds at times ;), but you need to take some time for self-care and do something that inspire you to create the life you want.

If you take the time to eat well, drink lots of water, take mini-breaks when you need it, and spend time with those you love, you’ll be even more able to spread the seasonally good cheer! There’s nothing less cheerful than a grouchy friend. Treat yourself to a massage or a super special OliveBox ;) and you’ll find even more strength and energy to take care of those around you and find joy in the journey. After all, life is about the journey, and even with the added stress during this busiest time of the year, you can take steps to make it a fun season.Given the spirit of the holidays, I have a special gift for you. Many of you have written in asking about my private coaching programs. I am so sorry to say that I am not able to commit to new private clients at this time. However, I understand that it can be difficult to know what to do next and want to equip you with the knowledge you need to make your product retail ready. I have spent countless hours creating the Retail Recipes workbook + DIY kit for this very purpose, and it includes tons of advice and strategies that I have shared with my private clients to get great results. And, it’s only at a fraction of the cost. If you take action now and sign up for the Retail Recipes workbook + DIY kit, you will receive a special invitation to join me for a 1-hour LIVE Q&A call the first week of December. It’s my special GIFT to you! :)

Look forward to “seeing” you on the call and making your product retail ready in 2013!

are you surprised?

Hey there,

Do you remember the last time someone surprised you with an unexpected gift?
I’ll bet you remember who the giver was, what the gift was, and when you got it. We remember things like this because of the infrequency with which we receive surprise treats. Even just a simple personalized thank you card in the mail will go far in this age of electronic everything and mass-mailings.

There is nothing more special than the occasional surprise treat or reward to your team members, your clients, your mentors, or your customers. Here is an example:At Pink Olive, we implemented the Good Gifter Program earlier this year that rewards our customers for shopping with us in-store. Customers receive oodles of benefits such as a giftcard for being a ‘Good Gifter’ after their 6th visit, unexpected surprises and snail mail on their birthday. It’s our way of showing our customers how much we appreciate them and value their business. It won’t take much, a little something will do the trick.  The real gift you’ll be giving is the gesture of appreciation and thanks that won’t soon be forgotten. It’s the thought that will come back in spades when you deepen your connection to those who support you most. How can you apply this to your business? Can you think of 3 little things you can do for 3 of your clients or someone you admire that shows how much you appreciate them? I would love to hear about your ideas here.

P.S. As many of you know, my private coaching program is currently closed. However, I thought I would shake things up and open up 3 “critique my line” private sessions to 3 people this month. First come, first serve. If you are interested, please sign up here. I will not be accepting any private clients for the rest of 2012.image: knot & bow

one degree of separation

As the saying goes, everyone is connected by six degrees of separation. Well, in today’s interconnected, always plugged in, social media-heavy environment, I’m starting to think we’re all connected by less than six degrees. I’d even venture to say its closer to one degree. We meet so many people on a daily basis, from people on the street, to store owners, to your best friend’s half brother.

The thing that separates successful people from less successful people is the ability to embrace these one degree connections. Here is what I mean. If we can foster these relationships that are created on a daily basis, relationships that could lead to new ideas, business ventures, partnerships or support systems, the opportunity becomes endless.

We are all blessed to meet new and interesting people all arond us but sometimes our fear gets in the way. Kick your fear to the curb and say hello. You may be pleasantly surprised how much you have in common with a new acquaintence or how that one meetup lead to new opportunity you would have never imagined. When you meet people with a giving heart, you attract other giving people. This is the kind of relationship where you will continue to look out for each other beyond that first day and support each other – now, that’s the kind of life that I want to live. Don’t you? If you missed my post from two weeks ago on how I met my dear friend Barb, you can check out her story here.

Every time I go out and meet people, the world becomes smaller and smaller. Take the time to get to know people, foster a real relationship, and the possibilities become endless. You never know who you will meet!
